What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll know how to generate atmospheric, tour-branded promotional images using Midjourney's AI image generation — for social media headers, Canva designs, promotional flyers, and email headers. Useful for seasonal promotions, new tour launches, and when you don't have great photos of a specific stop.
What you'll need
What you should see: After subscribing, you can type /imagine commands in any Midjourney channel or in a direct message with the bot.
Midjourney images come from text descriptions. A good prompt has 4 parts:
--ar 16:9 --v 6)In a Midjourney channel or DM, type:
/imagine prompt: [your description] --ar 16:9 --v 6
For ghost/historical tours:
/imagine prompt: atmospheric view of historic French Quarter street at night, gas lanterns glowing, cobblestones wet with rain, mysterious and evocative, cinematic travel photography, New Orleans architecture --ar 16:9 --v 6
For walking/history tours:
/imagine prompt: charming colonial-era street with tourists exploring on foot, warm golden hour lighting, historic buildings with brick facades, inviting and adventurous, travel editorial photography style --ar 4:3 --v 6
For food/culinary tours:
/imagine prompt: vibrant open-air market food stall, colorful fresh produce and street food, warm daylight, authentic and appetizing, food travel photography, shallow depth of field --ar 1:1 --v 6
After 1-2 minutes, Midjourney generates 4 image options. Below them, you'll see buttons labeled U1, U2, U3, U4 (Upscale) and V1, V2, V3, V4 (Variations).
After you find prompts that work for your tour type, save them. Create a text file with your successful prompts:
