What you'll accomplish

By the end of this guide, you'll be automatically transcribing your tour narration with Otter.ai, turning your spoken stories into searchable text. This creates a content library you can mine for blog posts, social media captions, audio guide scripts, and training materials for new guides — without typing a single word.

What you'll need

  • An Otter.ai account — free plan includes 300 minutes/month of transcription (otter.ai)
  • Your smartphone with the Otter.ai app installed (iOS and Android)
  • Permission from your tour guests to record (always ask at the start — most guides say "I'm recording for quality purposes")
  • Time needed: 15 minutes to set up; recording is automatic during tours
  • Cost: Free for 300 min/month; paid plan for more
